Indecent images of girls found on man’s computer

A JUDGE has ordered a man be placed on a sex offenders’ register for five years after indecent images of young girls were found on his computer.

Bolton Crown Court heard how, during an investigation, police seized a laptop computer from the bedside cabinet at Matthew Morris’s home.

Thomas Fitzpatrick, prosecuting, said when it was examined 12 images of girls, aged seven to 10 years were found in October, 2010. The children were clothed but in erotic poses.

When questioned by officers Morris claimed to not know about the pictures.

Mr Fitzpatrick said:“He initially tried to put blame on individuals who had custody of the computer when it was being repaired.”

Morris, aged 34, previously of Bolton and now of Doveridge, Derbyshire, pleaded guilty to 12 counts of making indecent images of children, but told probation staff he was disgusted by his actions and had no sexual interest in children.

He was given a three-year community order with supervision and ordered to take part in a sex offender treatment programme.

He will also be subject to a sexual offences prevention order for five years.
